Ulli Bögershausen has been a defining part of the German acoustic guitar scene for almost four decades. He has also dealt with the classical guitar, but his actual instrument is the steel string, which develops a very special melodic and rhythmic power in his hands. As a musician, Bögershausen, initially inspired by the American role model Leo Kottke, is extremely expressive and able to take his audience into a musical world of images with just a few notes. But he also uses his abilities and empathy as a musician in another area. As a competent author, he has submitted teaching works to Acoustic Music. These books convey more than the purely technical and guitaristic. They give direct insight into the harmonic, melodic and rhythmic way of thinking and playing of one of the leading German acoustic guitarists.
